Under the general direction of the Chief of Staff, a Staff Services Manager II, the Administrative Analyst is responsible for performing a wide range of analytical administrative functions and special assignments to support the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Procurement and Contracts (DPAC). The incumbent will function in a lead capacity and independently perform a full range of administrative duties including, but not limited to, personnel, recruitment, and resource management.
The incumbent will form partnerships and serve as liaison with the Division of Human Resources (DHR), Division of Budgets, and Administration Program Resource Management. This position requires a high level of confidentiality that must be observed when addressing sensitive issues while exercising a high degree of discretion, initiative, independence, resourcefulness, tact, and organization skills. The successful candidate must adhere to ethical practices and policies, ensure best value for the State, and demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to providing quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds customers’ expectations.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in‑person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.
Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.
