This is a part‑time position offering around 20‑25 hours per week, usually between 8:00 am‑5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise visits between foster children and their birth families
- Provide transportation for foster children to appointments
- Ensure the visitation area is prepared for visits
- Document each visit and report any noteworthy concerns
- Communicate with social workers about the progress of visits, any concerns, or changes in the child or family’s situation
- Perform a variety of office‑based administrative duties in between those other assignments
- Provide additional in‑home behavioral support to youth and families in Koinonia’s intensive services foster care (ISFC) program
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Dependable and reliable
- Good driving record with a reliable personal vehicle
- Good references and ability to pass a criminal record background check
- Experience working with children and families preferred
- Excellent observational skills and ability to not get distracted during visits
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to establish and maintain effective personal boundaries with children and families
- A high degree of integrity and confidentiality
- A vehicle that safely accommodates a child car seat

Qualified candidates must complete a criminal background clearance through the California Department of Justice and FBI to ensure eligibility for employment, as well as a pre‑employment physical and TB test.
This position requires a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation as driving is an essential job function. Foster Care Visitation Monitors are responsible for tasks such as visiting client homes, transporting youth, engaging with community partners, often in locations not easily accessible by alternative transportation methods. The nature of these responsibilities necessitates the ability to drive to ensure timely, reliable, confidential and effective support for the youth and families we serve.
