AboutThe Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects throughout the Sacramento region. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction—from preconstruction and budgeting through closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The projects include office buildings, retail centers, healthcare facilities, multifamily developments, tenant improvements, etc. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at stakeholder communication, and has a strong background in commercial construction management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
- Lead subcontractor selection, negotiation, and contract administration
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations
- Monitor jobsite safety and quality control standards
- Conduct regular site visits and lead project meetings
- Identify and proactively resolve project risks and issues
- Oversee project documentation, change orders, and reporting
- Deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining strong client relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
- Proven track record managing projects valued at $5M+
- Strong knowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of commercial construction processes, contracts, and safety regulations
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
