Solar Multifamily Superintendent, New Construction

We are currently looking for a Superintendent to manage our various multifamily housing and small commercial solar projects in various areas throughout Northern California. Occasional travel to the Central Valley may be required. Projects range in size from app. 50 – 800 kW and are all in new construction (retrofit projects are managed by our sister retrofit division). The Superintendent builds and maintains close working relationships with the builder superintendents and the other trades on the job site, and understands all specifics and requirements of each community, jurisdictions, codes etc.

He or she sets the schedule for the Crews and ensures an on‑time, high quality and safe solar and possibly home battery installations in multiple new construction communities or projects at a time. This role performs at the intersection of the well‑organized Citadel new nonstruction backoffice and the professional new construction field environment in close cooperation with homebuilders and the other trade partners on the job site.

Travel: Local Field Role

• Oversee multiple New Homes communities or projects with various builders.
• Kickoff new communities with the builder and other trades and maintain regular close communication with all builder superintendents.
• Ensure all company safety and quality standards are met in all aspects of required work.
• Perform daily site visits to check on past work and schedule upcoming work for the crews.
• Ensure solar designs match field conditions orientation, elevation, north arrow, roof plane where solar will be installed is clear of all obstructions.
• Perform inventory audits of crews' truck stock and work with crew leads to maintain mid/max levels.
• Train crews on new products as needed as well as newly hired crews.
• Communicate daily on all related field activities and provide daily updates.
• Provide quarterly, monthly, and weekly forecast.
• Review budget to ensure projects are coming in within budget.

• 5+ years solar installation and troubleshooting skills.
• Roof top over tile, comp, TPO, ballasted, carport, ground mount solar installation.
• New construction background (preferred)
• Battery storage
• Ability to read and understand bule prints and single line diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot in the field and coordinate field resources.
• Management skills to oversee crews and field techs.
• Electrical solar experience (Enphase/Solar Edge) a plus
• Good record keeping and organizational skills for tracking multiple projects.
• Ability to set up extension ladder and occasionally access roof and perform inspections.
• Good computer skills including Photo Software, Scheduling Software, Excel.
• Knowledge or Builder software platforms (i.e. Supply Pro) a plus.
• Ability to solve problems, resolve situations while managing customer relationships.
• Good communication skills – both external and internal.
• Dual English/Spanish language skills a big plus.
