We are a full‑service commercial construction company with over 65 years of experience, currently looking for a Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Sacramento, CA.
Job Details
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year.
Responsibilities- Help and assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the management and execution of construction projects, including scheduling, cost control, expediting, quantification, estimate/pricing and safety.
- Prepare submittal log updates and RFI updates, emphasizing outstanding submittals and unanswered RFIs.
- Study and learn submittal requirements; ensure that subcontractors make timely submittals; review subcontractor submittals for conformance with the specifications and contract documents; transmit subcontractor submittals to the architect or design team for review and approval; maintain status log, track submittal responsiveness and responses.
- Prepare, address and distribute RFIs to appropriate design consultant, owner and subcontractors.
- Check and review miscellaneous change‑order requests submitted by subcontractors for validity and correctness.
- Prepare construction schedule using Microsoft Project software and prepare miscellaneous estimates to justify extra work or change orders.
- Prepare material take‑off and requisitions and purchase orders.
- Oversee proper completion of daily job logs and as‑built records.
- Prepare and gather all closeout documentation.
- Expedite material deliveries.
- Monitor quality control and report to the PM and superintendent.
- Bachelor’s degree desired but not required; working experience will be considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry in a project engineer/project management role.
- Experience with construction project management software (Procore desired).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and above‑average written and oral communication skills, including strong negotiation skills.
