Construction Project Manager – Capital Projects / Healthcare Facilities
Immediate need for a talented Construction Project Manager. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Sacramento, CA (Hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead capital construction and facility build-out projects from planning through completion.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, estimates, and financial tracking.
- Visit active project sites to review work progress and verify construction is being completed correctly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project risks, deadlines, scope, and cost impacts.
- Prepare and present project status updates, dashboards, and reports.
- Support project governance, documentation, and change management as needed.
- Ensure work is aligned with project plans, quality standards, and construction requirements.
Key Requirements and Technology
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in construction project management, capital projects, or facility build-out/renovation projects
- Experience managing budgets, estimates, and financial oversight for construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction environments and the ability to work alongside general contractors
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Experience with project planning and scheduling tools, especially MS Project
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Bay Area and surrounding regions
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted
- PMP certification is a plus, but not required
- Healthcare construction experience
- Capital improvement project experience
- Hospital, medical office, office building, or commercial build-out experience
- Experience working in large matrixed organizations
- Strong financial literacy and estimating skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
