Location:

Redding, CA. Primarily based in Redding with regular travel to active project sites.

US-Offsite is a modular design-build factory and general contractor helping deliver multifamily modular projects with speed, quality, and predictability. Through USO Building Co., our project teams connect the field, design team, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support disciplined execution from contract award through close-out.

US-Offsite is hiring a Commercial Construction Project Engineer for its construction division, USO Building Co., to support the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of multifamily modular construction projects. This role is responsible for RFIs, submittals, subcontract administration, invoicing support, buyout tracking, document control, field coordination, and close-out documentation.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, communicative, and eager to grow in construction project management while keeping documentation accurate, current, and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, log, track, and follow up on project RFIs
  • Maintain RFI logs and communicate potential schedule or scope impacts to the Project Manager
  • Compile, review, submit, and track submittals including shop drawings, product data, and samples
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on lead times, approvals, and material delivery schedules
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documents in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Collect and verify subcontractor certificates of insurance, licenses, DIR registration, and compliance documents
  • Support project buyout by soliciting, leveling, and tracking subcontractor bids
  • Maintain buyout logs, subcontract status, awarded scopes, contract values, and outstanding items
  • Process and track subcontractor pay applications and support owner draw requests
  • Maintain job cost tracking and flag budget variances for PM review
  • Maintain organized project files, meeting minutes, action items, notices, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Assist Site Supervisors with subcontractor schedules, material deliveries, site walks, and OAC meeting documentation
  • Support punch lists, warranties, O&M manuals, close-out packages, and warranty tracking
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in construction or a related field
  • Prior experience with RFIs, submittals, subcontract administration, or document control preferred
  • Exposure to commercial, multifamily, modular, or design-build construction is a plus
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and project documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and project management/document control software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple logs, deadlines, details, and follow-up items with accuracy
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support PMs, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and design professionals
  • Must be able to walk active construction sites, climb stairs or ladders as needed, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay and Benefits
  • W-2 Employment
  • Full-time schedule, 40+ hours per week
  • Base salary: $65,000-$90,000 per year
  • Realistic annual earning potentials of $99,000
  • 10% annual bonus potential based on project performance.
  • Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel using a personal vehicle.
