NON-CAREER PART TIME/SEASONAL

Under immediate supervision, provides general office support to the Business Services Manager; assists camp guests; handles retail purchase transactions at the camp store; and, assists staff with performing guest education and recreation activities.
Employees are non-career; may work up to 1040 hours per year. Supervision is provided by the Camp Business Manager. The classification may supervise lower level personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Greet and assist guests with reservation check‑in.
- Answer phone, take messages, provide information, answer camper concerns, and direct guests to lodging.
- Explain camp rules and procedures.
- Maintain guest registration, lodge inventory, and office supply records.
- Operate cash register, collect, and count money.
- Operate computer and computer software for guest reservation and updating records.
- Follow staff policies and procedures.
- May supervise lower level staff.
- May assist in campground educational activities and special events/activities.
- Knowledge of principles of customer service and proper telephone contact practices.
- Knowledge of principles of supervision and training.
- Basic filing and record‑keeping.
- Basic mathematical principles.
- Use of modern office equipment, computer, and software programs to communicate, access information and/or prepare documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Interact with staff and public in a professional manner.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Schedule, train, and evaluate the work of lower level staff.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Read, write, and speak the English language at an efficient level.

Special QualificationsMust be at least 18 years old by time of appointment.
Assessments- Pass a physical exam and a criminal background check.
- Pass a tuberculosis screening test.
- Participation in mandatory staff training conducted in late May or early June of each year.
- Mandatory Reporter training completion within two weeks of appointment.
Successful candidates must provide their own transportation to the Camp Sacramento site.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentWork duties involve walking, bending, stooping, and lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Employees must work outside in various weather, terrain, and elevations; may be exposed to cold.
Employees are required to reside at Camp Sacramento May to August, with potential extension to September. Weekend and night shifts are required.
This position does not have benefits.
