Registered Dental Hygienist (Part-time)
Location: Greater Sacramento, CA
Shifts: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Days) 20 hours per week
Setting: FQHC or community health outpatient clinic
Job DescriptionThe Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is responsible for delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic oral healthcare services to patients. This role focuses on improving patients' oral health through periodontal therapies and other dental hygiene services while ensuring a positive patient experience. The RDH works collaboratively with dentists and clinic staff to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and uphold the organization's commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Roles & Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, including periodontal therapies and preventive care.
- Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene protocols and best practices.
- Perform expanded duties as permitted by law and directed by the supervising dentist.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow clinic infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, trays, and materials for patient care.
- Utilize dental software systems for scheduling, documentation, and digital x‑rays.
- Ensure all services and processes comply with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional patient interactions at all times.
- Support overall clinic efficiency and team collaboration.
- High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the State of California.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Proficiency with computers, dental software systems, and digital radiography.
- Experience in customer service or patient-facing roles, preferably in a dental setting.
- Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, infection control standards, and sterilization protocols.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
