Under direction of the Chief, Office of Landscape Architecture Support and Planning, the incumbent will facilitate communication between Headquarters and assigned Regions and Districts to support planning and design of transportation system improvements. This includes roadside rehabilitation, erosion control, safety improvements, resource conservation, roadway livability enhancements and complete‑streets elements. The incumbent will also provide technical guidance on classification of landscaped freeways, prepare written reports, and make recommendations to improve programs and projects.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Headquarters, Regions and Districts to advance transportation system improvement projects.
- Provide technical guidance on classification of landscaped freeways per California Code of Regulations.
- Produce written reports and recommendations to improve programs and projects.
- Coordinate with other functional areas of the Department to support Project Delivery.
- Assist with roadside livability enhancements and complete‑streets elements as appropriate.
- Support telework and in‑person attendance as required.
Valid registration as a Licensed Landscape Architect with the California Architecture Board Landscape Architects Technical Committee is required. Minimum qualifications are listed in the Class Specification.

- Possession of a valid driver’s license required when operating a state vehicle.
