The Sacramento office of Smith Group is looking for an Architectural Intern to join our team.
Responsibilities- Work on integrated design teams with planning, engineering, and interior design.
- Participate in design meetings.
- Use the latest 2D and 3D software to develop conceptual models and renderings.
- Document changes to architectural drawings, as instructed.
- Read and review project drawings and plans as well as building codes and local zoning.
- Receive mentorship from experienced design professionals.
- Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.
- Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited architecture program at the time of the internship.
- Some experience with Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, V-Ray, Lumion, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Smith Group promotes a healthy work/life balance for our staff, as well as hybrid work options that give interns the flexibility to work within our vibrant office culture or remotely, as needed. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $23.60 to $25.00 per hour, at the time of posting. You are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week.
Our 12-week summer internships are held between May-August. The Final date to receive applications is March 1st 2026; however, we encourage you to apply early as the position may be filled prior to the deadline.
