Sutter Medical Group is seeking a Program Director for our Pediatric Residency Program who is also a physician in pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty to join our team.
This position is a 1.0 FTE role, with 0.5 FTE dedicated to serving as Program Director for our Pediatric Residency Program. The Program Director (PD) directs all operations of the Sutter Health Pediatrics Residency Program and clinical patient care provided by residents and faculty. The PD develops and leads strategic plans for high-quality resident recruitment, training, and retention. The PD provides residents with superb training experience while meeting ABP, ACGME, and Sutter Health institutional standards.
ResponsibilitiesDirects all operations of the Sutter Health Pediatrics Residency Program and the clinical care provided by residents and faculty.
Develops and leads strategic plans for high-quality resident recruitment, training, and retention.
Provides residents with superb training experiences while ensuring compliance with ABP, ACGME, and Sutter Health institutional standards.
Qualifications- Documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.
- Actively involved in clinical care of patients.
- Knowledge of health care delivery and administration, and legal and ethical issues related to health care.
- Ability to work with a team approach to management; able to solicit input from other departments or individuals, communicate pertinent information, and support team decisions.
- Ability to be persuasive and diplomatic in encouraging teamwork and cooperation in the pursuit of excellence in service.
- Ability to communicate effectively and exercise sound and responsible judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal; ability to establish constructive working relationships with all levels of management and employees in a diverse environment.
- Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations calmly, consistently, and equitably.
- Ability to supervise others and delegate effectively.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively represent the program’s interests in the community; maintaining effective working relationships among public, private, and professional groups.
- Current California medical license and Board Certification in Pediatrics.
- As required for appropriate clinical privileges.
- Program Director Compensation: $175/hour for 1043 hours/year = $182,525
