Pay Range: $55.00 - $64.00

The Hospital Educator RN designs, implements, and evaluates education and staff development programs for all hospital employees, clinical and non‑clinical. This role owns the learning experience for all new hires, including the design and delivery of New Employee Orientation (NEO), annual competency programs, mandatory trainings, and ongoing professional development. The educator owns the New Employee Orientation (NEO) process and partners with the HR Generalist to coordinate onboarding logistics and ensure a smooth, organized experience for all new hires.

As the organization’s subject matter expert for Health Stream, the hospital’s learning management system, the educator ensures accurate assignment, tracking, and reporting of all required education. The role reports to the HR Director with a dotted line to the CNO to ensure alignment with clinical, and regulatory standards.

Development
  • Maintains a personal plan for professional growth and current clinical and educational competencies.
  • Facilitates NEO and annual training programs, including Handle with Care, BLS, safety, code of conduct, and other required education.
  • Identifies education needs for all job roles and designs training programs that meet organizational, regulatory, and departmental requirements.
  • Manages and partners with the HR Generalist to coordinate NEO activities, onboarding workflows, and communication with new hires.
  • Supports a culture of learning by helping staff apply new knowledge and skills.
Curriculum Development & Independent Judgment
  • Designs, develops, and maintains the hospital’s training curriculum for both clinical and non‑clinical positions.
  • Uses independent judgment to determine required courses, competencies, and learning pathways for each role.
  • Creates education media, including e‑learning modules, videos, job aids, and competency tools.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for Health Stream, ensuring accurate course creation, assignment, reporting, and system administration
Ownership of the New‑Hire Learning Experience
  • Leads the educational design, content, and delivery of NEO for all job classes.
  • Ensures new hires receive a consistent, engaging, and compliant onboarding experience.
  • Collaborates with HR and department leaders to ensure department‑specific onboarding aligns with organizational standards.
  • Provides guidance to clinical preceptors and trainers to support high‑quality role‑specific training.
Accountability
  • Maintains complete and accurate education files for all employees, documenting orientation, competencies, and ongoing training.
  • Partners with HR and department leaders to manage a hospital‑wide master tracker of NEO and annual competencies.
  • Ensures timely completion of mandatory training and communicates proactively with staff and leadership regarding compliance.
  • Promotes safety, confidentiality, and adherence to patient rights and organizational policies.
  • Supports the hospital’s mission, values, and nursing philosophy in all education activities.
