Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory seeks a knowledgeable and reflective IB Diploma Programme (DP) Teacher to join our secondary faculty. The DP teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, inquiry-based instruction aligned with IB subject guides while supporting students in developing the skills, dispositions, and ethical character necessary for success in higher education and beyond.

DP teachers are active contributors to the IB community and play a vital role in supporting the DP Core (Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS) and in upholding IB standards, policies, and assessment practices.

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with IB Diploma Programme subject guides, aims, and assessment objectives.
• Design learning experiences that promote inquiry, critical thinking, research, and conceptual understanding.
• Use Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) to develop student skills such as communication, self-management, thinking, research, and collaboration.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and promote equitable access to the DP curriculum.
• Integrate global perspectives and interdisciplinary connections where appropriate.

• Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with IB DP assessment criteria.
• Provide timely, meaningful feedback to support student progress and reflection.
• Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments, including moderation requirements.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and meet all IB and school deadlines.

• Support the DP Core as applicable:
• Serve as an Extended Essay supervisor, TOK teacher, or CAS advisor, as needed and assigned.
• Adhere to IB guidelines for supervision, reflection, and academic honesty.
• Guide students in developing independence, ownership of learning, and reflective practices.
• Support students in meeting DP Core requirements through mentoring and structured guidance.
• Participate in DP collaborative planning, standardization, and moderation.
• Implement and uphold IB policies, including:
• Academic Integrity
• Assessment
• Access and Inclusion
• Language
• Use IB platforms such as Manage Bac to document planning, assessment, and student progress.
• Contribute to programme evaluation, curriculum review, and IB authorization or evaluation processes.

• Collaborate with department colleagues, DP Coordinator, and school leadership.
• Participate in professional learning communities and faculty meetings.
• Engage in reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• Attend IB-approved professional development as required by the programme.

• Bachelor’s degree in the subject area (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching credential or eligibility to obtain one.
• IB DP teaching experience and/or IB Category 1–3 training preferred.
• Strong understanding of inquiry-based instruction and criterion-referenced assessment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of an Islamic learning environment.

• Experience teaching in an IB World School or candidate school.
• Familiarity with Manage Bac, Atlas Rubicon, or similar curriculum-mapping platforms.
• Experience supporting DP Core components.
• Willingness to contribute to school wide initiatives, program development plan, and student life.
• Full-time teaching position with instructional and DP programme responsibilities.
• Participation in school events, meetings, and IB-required activities.
• Commitment to maintaining a professional, respectful, and collaborative school culture.
