CLA Introduction
The California Lawyers Association (CLA) is the Bar association for all California attorneys. We are a member-driven, mission-focused organization dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state of California. CLA has eighteen Sections including the New Lawyers Section (NLS) that share an area of interest in law and each offers top-tier programs, award winning conferences, events, and provides access to outstanding legal resources.

PositionSummary
The Marketing Specialist is an entry-level role that provides essential production, content, and data support to the Marketing Coordinators and Marketing Manager. This role focuses on the tactical execution of digital marketing tasks, content drafting, web updates, analytics gathering, and project logistics. The Specialist is not a section-facing role; instead, they support the team by improving speed, consistency, and quality across all marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities Campaign Production & Execution Support- Build email drafts, schedule sends, and format content according to department standards.
- Draft initial social media posts, event blurbs, and web updates for Coordinator review.
- Upload and maintain content in CMS and email marketing platforms.
- Conduct background research for campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Gather prior examples, articles, graphics, or resources to support content creation.
- Proofread materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand compliance.
- Pull marketing analytics, including email performance, social metrics, and webpage statistics.
- Update dashboards and spreadsheets with new data.
- Prepare charts and visuals for the Coordinator or Manager review.
- Manage shared project management boards and track task completion.
- Organize marketing files, assets, and templates.
- Assist with collateral preparation for events and conferences.
- Support requests to design, communications, events, and membership staff.
- Track and confirm deadlines for creative assets and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in marketing or communications.
- Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with email platforms, social media tools, and CMS systems preferred.
