The Department of Geology at Sacramento State seeks qualified part‑time lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate geology courses, including Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Surficial Processes, Paleontology, Petrology, and general‑education courses such as Physical Geology, Natural Disasters, Oceanography, and Dinosaurs. Course assignments, dates, times, and modality are determined by the Department Chair in collaboration with the College Dean.
Responsibilities- Instruct assigned courses, prepare lesson plans, deliver lectures, and facilitate learning activities.
- Grade student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
- Hold office hours to support student learning and academic progress.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department to meet academic needs.
- Required: Master’s degree in Geology or a related geoscience field.
- Preferred: Prior teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.
