The Middle School Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA. This educator designs and delivers engaging, standards-aligned science lessons, using a variety of instructional strategies, labs, and projects to support diverse learners. Daily responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom instruction, assessment of student learning, maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment, and integrating data to adjust teaching practices.

The teacher collaborates with colleagues on curriculum development, participates in professional development, communicates regularly with families and guardians about student progress, and upholds the school’s high expectations for academic achievement and behavior. The role also involves supporting school-wide initiatives, contributing to a culture of college readiness, and modeling the organization’s core pillars in all interactions.

• Strong Science Education background with successful experience teaching at the Middle School level.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development aligned to standards and school-wide goals.
• Excellent Communication skills with students, families, and colleagues, including clear written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Valid teaching credential or eligibility for appropriate certification in California.
• Demonstrated ability to use student data to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
• Experience working in urban or underserved school communities is beneficial.
• Commitment to high expectations, equity, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Willingness to collaborate, participate in ongoing professional development, and contribute to school culture and extracurricular activities.
