Typical Duties
- Coordinator duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Dean/Associate Dean in developing, evaluating and implementing the Fire Technology and Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center (SRPSTC) training programs.
- Adhering to the standards of the Office of the State Fire Marshal, California State Fire Training.
- Program and course planning, organizing, scheduling, certification, and preparing, reviewing, and tracking student testing procedures.
- Assisting with articulation and developing, reviewing, revising, and improving curricula.
- Maintaining program documentation and preparing Career and Technical Education (CTE) reports.
- Administering program budgets, equipment and supplies with the ability to forecast department needs and establish goals and objectives.
- Preparing Perkins and Strong Workforce reporting.
- Facilitating SRPSTC Accredited Regional Training Program (ARTP) certifications
- Supporting instructional quality, program continuity, and compliance with state regulatory agencies.
- Developing and participating in a robust Fire Technology Advisory Committee to assure the curriculum meets the needs of the industry, certification and the community.
- Participating in hiring committees.
- Onboarding and orienting of new Fire Technology faculty to their assignment and obligations.
- Serving as a resource for Fire Technology faculty.
- Participating in peer review teams.
- Participating in program reviews and annual unit plans.
- Participating in professional activities.
- Coordinating with other Fire Technology faculty in the college system on class schedules, student learning outcomes, and program assessment.
