Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment, with applicants contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. The adjunct faculty member shall teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, help students achieve their full potential, assess student learning outcomes, maintain scholarly knowledge in their teaching field, pursue professional development, use current technology, uphold professional conduct, assist with articulation and curriculum review, serve on college committees, participate in governance and accreditation, and support other duties as assigned.

Position Salary Information.

Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupation experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (initial maximum placement is Class V, Step
1).

Typical Duties

The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in this discipline. Specific courses offered may include:

  • DAST 100 Introduction to Dental Assisting
  • DAST 101 Bio-Dental Science
  • DAST 107 Dental Radiology
Minimum Qualifications
  • Have a bachelor's degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the assignment; OR have an associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the assignment; OR the equivalent. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
  • Must have Certified Dental Assistant License.
  • Must have Registered Dental Assistant License.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
