The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position. Positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.
This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years in May. Applicants will remain active until the pool is refreshed and will receive email updates on how to stay in the pool.
Position Responsibilities- Providing counseling services—academic, career, personal, multicultural, and disability-related—to students with disabilities, both individually and in groups.
- Offering crisis intervention and referrals for students facing mental health or personal challenges.
- Assisting students with academic and career decision-making through individual and group counseling.
- Utilizing current technology to deliver counseling services via distance education.
- Coordinating with four-year institutions to facilitate student transitions.
- Conducting disability verifications and developing individualized accommodation and educational plans.
- Collaborating with faculty and staff to implement accommodation plans and advocate for students with disabilities.
- Providing training on disability accommodations and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Staying informed on laws and best practices related to disability services in higher education.
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related fields, or a bachelor’s degree with a valid MFT license, from an accredited institution.
- At least 15 semester units related to people with disabilities or equivalent experience, or two years of relevant full-time experience in counseling or social services for persons with disabilities.
- Responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds and commitment to inclusivity.
- Complete Los Rios Community College District application.
- Letter of interest, resume, unofficial transcripts, and license copy if applicable.
