About the Role

Capitol Academy and Capitol Elementary are seeking motivated Behavior Technician / Para educator & Transporters who are enthusiastic about supporting students with special needs both in the classroom and throughout the community. This role supports students in achieving academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success by implementing behavior intervention strategies and assisting with classroom instruction under the direction of BCBAs, teachers and school leadership.

This role collaborates closely with educators and related service providers to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment while promoting student independence and positive behavior.

We partner with local districts to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social emotional instruction in small class settings where teachers truly make an impact.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide behavioral and academic support to students in small-group or 1:1 setting
  • Implement strategies under the guidance of BCBAs and teachers
  • Encourage positive social and communication skills
  • Maintain detailed data and documentation for student progress
  • Safely transport students using school vehicles (training provided)
  • Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required
  • High School diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
  • Must pass fingerprint clearance and TB Test
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
