Under general direction of the Chief of Education and Outreach, the Education and Outreach Ambassador, in the Education and Outreach Unit, will be responsible to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and conduct training programs of average complexity. This includes performing the more responsible, varied and difficult training work and are assigned full journey person responsibilities requiring independence of action.

The California Underground Safety Board is seeking an Education and Outreach Ambassador to join our team. In this analyst role, you’ll drive our mission to improve public and worker safety by maintaining existing education and outreach materials and developing new materials to address emerging public safety issues and changes to the law.

You'll also leverage your planning and organizational skills to conduct research, execute public trainings and events, and develop staff reports that identify opportunities to enhance education and outreach efforts that increase compliance.

You'll exercise critical thinking, organization, and attention to detail to play an important role in championing initiatives that uphold the Board's mission and values.

Travel Required

Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle. Travel will be performed up to 25% of the time.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in construction or utilities industries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft programs, including Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient in media editing software, such as Canva.
  • Experience with public speaking, such as facilitating workshops or presentation information.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying laws, rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
