Urban Youth Collaborative exists to transform public school campuses into communities of faith, hope, and love by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through reproducing disciple-makers among the next generation. Through campus clubs, chaplaincy programs, community service projects, and sexual risk avoidance education, UYC empowers students to lead with purpose, build healthy relationships, and discover their God-given potential.

UYC is a coalition of over 100 church partners supporting student-led faith clubs and motivational assemblies at over 100 middle and high school campuses, with active ministry presence in San Diego (CA), Spokane (WA), Greater Sacramento (CA), Columbia (SC), Atlanta (GA), Tijuana (MX), and Addis Ababa (ET) — and emerging locations worldwide. What began as one youth pastor's conviction that public schools are the last place in American culture where nearly every young person still gathers has grown into a movement across multiple cities and countries, built on the belief that God wants his kids back.

Sacramento is UYC's newest US city. Sacramento City Unified enrolls approximately 38,268 students across 73 schools, with significant need for mentoring, relationship education, and spiritual grounding among local youth. UYC's initial focus area is centered within a ten-mile radius of the California State Capitol in downtown Sacramento, where UYC already has relationships in place, including at Bear River High School and Magnolia Intermediate, alongside congregational partner Compass Community Church.

We're looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial ministry leader to serve as
City Director
, launching and building UYC's ministry presence in Greater Sacramento from the ground up. This is a builder's role: you will personally establish campus ministry relationships, build a staff and volunteer base over time, and create the foundation for a thriving city operation.

You'll work directly on campus in ministry relationships with student leaders, church partners, and school allies, while also carrying responsibility for the long-term vision and strategy of the Sacramento market. Much like a coach who equips others to play the game while also stepping onto the field when needed, your greatest impact will come through developing student leaders and future team members who carry the ministry forward in their own schools and communities.

• Launch and lead UYC's ministry presence in Sacramento, building relationships with schools, churches, and student leaders across the priority focus area surrounding downtown Sacramento.
• Provide Student Leadership Training so students can legally launch and lead their own faith clubs on public school campuses.
• Partner with local churches to provide Church Leadership training, and equip parents and volunteers through Parent & Volunteer Leadership training.
• Personally raise 100% of the funding needed to cover your own salary and ministry expenses, and build a sustaining donor base through networking, relationship meetings, and grant opportunities.
• As the Sacramento market grows, consider building an early team — potentially including a Community Outreach Coordinator, an Administrative Coordinator, and a cohort of engaged local youth pastors — with each team member responsible for raising their own personal support, coached and supported by you along the way.
• Represent UYC and its mission enthusiastically to the greater Sacramento community, church partners, and school leaders.
