Construction Inspector (Full‑Time)
Location:
Antioch, California (San Francisco and San Jose considered). Join WSP’s PMCM team, working on construction projects that meet client objectives and solve challenges.
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Monitor construction for compliance with project documents.
- Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures.
- Inspect road and bridge construction based on Caltrans Standards.
- Review, inspect, and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, in accordance with Caltrans’ standards and requirements.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of post‑education experience in construction inspection.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- High familiarity with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, processes, methods, and techniques.
- ASBI Grouting Technician Certification.
- High familiarity with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑leadership, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Independent work capability with minimal supervision, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Analytical mindset to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, spreadsheets, and relevant software tools.
- Ability to provide input to subcontractors and colleagues to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and abiding by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Availability for schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
- Associate’s Degree in a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of education beyond high school in engineering or surveying, including trigonometry, algebra, drafting, and relevant sciences.
- Professional licensure or certification.

CompensationHourly rate: $65‑$85 per hour, depending on experience, location, and qualifications. Hourly rate may increase for services covered by California prevailing wage laws on public sector projects.
