Southwest Regional Dams, Levees and Civil Works Business Class Lead
Join HDR as the Southwest Regional Dams, Levees, and Civil Works Business Class Lead. In this role, you will lead the direction, coordination, and quality of multidisciplinary dam, levee, civil works, and flood risk management projects in the Southwest region.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, facilitate, and provide risk management for large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary, multi‑benefit projects.
- Build and maintain client and area business class relationships; participate in project development and contract document preparation.
- Mentor mid‑ and junior‑level staff across a variety of disciplines.
- Participate in and provide oversight to planning, design, inspection, and construction management of interior drainage, riverine flood risk management projects; dams and reservoirs; ecosystem restoration; drainage; and general site civil of major water management infrastructure.
- Coordinate inter‑related disciplines (hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, GIS).
- Collaborate with HDR’s other regional and corporate business class technical leads and advisors.
- Participate in corporate management of the DLCW program; perform technical and quality reviews.
- Work with legal, project managers, business group managers, and area managers on go/no‑go decisions, SOWs, contracts, and project pricing.
- Active engagement in professional or industry associations.
- MS in civil, environmental or water resources engineering (preferred).
- Fifteen (15) years related experience.
- Experience as a task lead and/or project manager in a consulting business.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated, team oriented.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, data assimilation skills.
- Extensive experience designing and directing large complex multi‑discipline projects.
- Experience with engineering during construction or construction administration for dam and levee projects.
- Strong technical writing, solid engineering background, effective presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
- 10 years experience in related field.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and related technical experience.
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.

Nevada $154,350–220,550;
California $169,785–275,625.
