Role OverviewAs a Field Application Engineer
, you will play a key role in supporting customers and internal sales teams during the pre‑sales and post‑sales process. This is a highly technical, customer‑facing role where you will explain complex engineering concepts, demonstrate test and measurement technologies, solve application issues, and develop training or demonstration materials.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance between hands‑on engineering, customer interaction, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Build strong, practical expertise with a portfolio of high‑precision test and measurement products.
- Perform hands‑on testing, validation, and troubleshooting to support customer needs.
- Deliver technical demonstrations (remote or onsite) during the pre‑sales process.
- Provide guidance and application support after purchase, including startup assistance, issue resolution, and case management.
- Partner with sales, product, and marketing teams to create:
- Application notes
- Whitepapers
- Demonstration guides
- Training materials
- Technical videos or presentations
- Support events such as industry trade shows, customer visits, and training sessions.
- Real‑world engineering experience in test & measurment (hands‑on technical work, troubleshooting, measurement, or product testing).
- Strong communication skills – clear, confident, and professional in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to work independently with customers in a technical context.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering
, or related STEM discipline.
- 2-4 years working with test & measurement equipment (either using it as an engineer or working for a company that manufactures such equipment).
- Familiarity with automation or scripting using Python, VB
, or similar languages is a plus. - Experience supporting technical sales or customer‑facing engineering is an advantage.
