AboutThe Role
Are you a forensic scheduling expert with a passion for high-stakes, large-scale infrastructure? We are seeking a highly specialized Senior Scheduler – Forensic Claims to join our team in the Project Controls and Project Financial Office in Fresno, CA
. This critical role will focus on forensic delay analysis
, schedule evaluation, and claims assessment for one of the nation's most ambitious public works projects. If you excel at investigating delays, assessing contractor claims, and contributing to dispute resolution, this is your chance to make a significant impact on program schedule integrity and risk mitigation.
Reporting to the Forensic Scheduling/Claims Manager, you will be entrusted with providing a specialized focus on schedule health and claims resolution across the program.
- Forensic Analysis:
Perform detailed forensic delay analyses, develop delay causation narratives, and produce summary reports identifying delay responsibility and impacts. - Claims Assessment:
Analyze contractor-submitted Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) and schedule-related claims to assess validity and quantify time extension requests. - Schedule Management:
Provide ongoing schedule maintenance, including updates to data, duration adjustments, and documentation of basis and assumptions. - Risk & Forecasting:
Evaluate the critical path and near-critical activities and develop what-if schedules and scenario analyses to support forecasting and risk mitigation strategies. - Dispute Resolution:
Assist in developing rebuttal documentation and participate in claims review meetings to support dispute resolution efforts. - Coordination:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Project Construction Managers (PCMs) and financial analysts, to assess the cost implications of delays and extensions. - Oversight:
Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior and mid-level scheduling staff as needed.
- Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience. - Specialized
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years in forensic scheduling or claims analysis. - Software Expertise:
Demonstrated expertise in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Methodology Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of various delay analysis methodologies, including Windows Analysis, Time Impact Analysis, Impacted As-Planned, and Collapsed As-Built. - Project Knowledge:
Proven experience developing and reviewing construction schedules from preliminary designs, and knowledge of rail and roadway infrastructure, including structures, staging, and systems integration. - Claims Knowledge:
Familiarity with contractual claims management, construction documentation, and dispute resolution practices.
- Professional Certification:
Professional Scheduling Certification such as AACE PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) or PMI-SP. - Industry Focus:
Advanced experience in delay analysis specifically for transportation or rail infrastructure projects. - Program
Experience:
Experience with large-scale capital programs and an understanding of public-sector infrastructure delivery. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with cost management systems and integrated project controls software.
