WhatYou’ll Do
As our Environmental Practice Leader and Program Manager, you’ll lead and support our largest clients in California and collaborate across markets for the growth and development of Jacobs’ Environmental business by
- Exploring and delivering projects and programs within the California Environmental Market.
- A strong and demonstrated understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements (NEPA, CEQA, Federal, State Permits, etc.)
- A demonstrated familiarity with accelerated processes in federal, state, and local regulatory compliance in support of complex infrastructure projects.
- Working to advance our collaboration and growth across our Water, Transportation, Federal, and Energy Markets.
- Crafting and executing strategies to grow our environmental practice in California.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, with a focus on transportation subsectors.
- Building and nurturing relationships with key clients and industry partners.
- Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams to foster innovation and excellence.
- Collaborating across departments to deliver integrated, future‑ready solutions.
- Staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
- Representing Jacobs at industry events, conferences, and strategic forums.
- Ability to help lead commercial strategies and project delivery of alternative delivery projects, including Design‑Build and Progressive Design‑Build.
- Strategy development and ability for relationship‑building with Engineer Procurement Construction firms
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Environmental Planning, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 20+ years of experience in the environmental planning/permitting industry.
- A strong track record in quality delivery and operations‑based business development.
- Deep understanding of the life cycle of environmental, transportation, water, federal and energy infrastructure from planning through siting, permitting, design, delivery, and operations.
- Proven leadership, communication, and networking skills.
- Demonstrated success in winning and delivering large‑scale projects and programs
- Experience with smart mobility and sustainability and resiliency practices.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local infrastructure funding mechanisms.
- Knowledge of private and commercial pricing and delivery expectations.
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies shaping modern environmental planning efforts.
