• Serve as a fully capable professional with minimal supervision.
• Apply advanced knowledge to develop design procedures, software, and tools for high-quality, cost-effective projects.
• Develop estimates of technical efforts and manage communication with design teams and clients.
• Conduct interdisciplinary reviews and oversee the development and implementation of technical approaches.
• Initiate and create project designs, plans, presentation drawings, and working drawings.
• Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives.
• Oversee work of less experienced designers as needed.

• BA/BS degree with 6 years of related experience or equivalent.

• 6+ years of civil design experience, especially with highways, state, county, and municipal roads.
• Experience with Microstation/InRoads, Auto Desk Civil 3D, and Caltrans PS&E production is preferred.
• Ability to apply agency standards and work well in a team environment.
