Role descriptionArcadis is currently searching for an Entry‑Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Sacramento, CA. This position is slated to start in Summer 2026. Candidates who are graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Perform office work including task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, and schedule and budget management.
- Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling; oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
- Participate in emergency response teams in the Pacific Northwest and National areas for rapid protection of human health and the environment, including unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours.
- Travel regionally for 1–2 days per week on average and within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time; estimated travel is up to 75% during the first two years, decreasing to about 50% by the third year. Travel expenses are reimbursable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field (e.g., environmental, biological, physical science).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
