Job Overview
Job Type: Full Time. Pay Range: $100,266 to $135,354 per year (eligible for incentive compensation in Sacramento, CA). This role is located in Sacramento, Fort Worth, and Grand Prairie.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain standardized packaging guidelines and requirements for Global Supply Chain for a wide range of commodities.
- Review and approve vendor submitted packaging plans.
- Communicate changes, updates, and exceptions to packaging requirements to all supply‑chain stakeholders.
- Determine optimal lot size, packaging configuration, and part groupings to optimize logistics and production processes.
- Conduct cost analyses on packaging updates, expendable versus returnable decisions, and lot‑size changes.
- Work with operations teams to provide feedback on execution of proposed packaging plans and material configuration.
- Pull data from the ERP system (SAP) to determine optimal part grouping by planned consumption in production.
- Prepare and execute checklists for new projects award related to supply‑chain and packaging work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field plus 36 months of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in a related field plus 12 months of relevant experience.
- Experience in rolling out and improving supply‑chain packaging specifications in an operations environment.
- Project‑management skills including developing project plans, planning and organizing, risk management, timelines/schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, and ROI calculation.
- Knowledge of logistics and packaging‑industry best practices.
- Experience working with different types of bills of materials between engineering and production.
- Ability to drive projects in a low‑volume start‑up production environment where items are produced sequentially.
- Experience developing packaging prototypes and working with modeling software such as Solid Works or Creo.
- Experience developing testing guidelines and reporting.
- Experience applying Corrective and Preventative Action methodology.
