Fluor is seeking candidates for opportunities within our Program Delivery Support (PDS) team, working alongside the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to provide program delivery and program management services for one of the largest planned infrastructure projects in the U.S. The system will connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area, with up to 24 stations.

The first phase of the program is currently under construction in California's Central Valley.

Job Description

This is a remote opportunity with 10% travel

The Technical Delivery Assistant Project Manager (APM) will report to the Technical Delivery Manager [Civil Infrastructure] and will be responsible for supporting the management and integration of consultant teams, technical disciplines, and project stakeholders through engineering, environmental, preconstruction, procurement, and early implementation phases of civil infrastructure projects within the Planning & Engineering Office.

The role may support projects including, but not limited to, Merced to Madera (M2M), Locally Generated Alternative (LGA), Gilroy to Merced, Central Valley Stations, and other civil infrastructure projects requiring technical delivery coordination, oversight, integration, and implementation support across the Authority.

The APM will assist in the development and execution of project delivery strategies and coordinate across Authority branches, consultant teams, local agencies, and external stakeholders to support the advancement of complex infrastructure projects throughout planning, engineering, environmental, procurement, and preconstruction phases.

Position Responsibilities

* Support Technical Delivery leadership in the development and implementation of project delivery strategies for major civil infrastructure projects across the high-speed rail program, including planning, phasing, procurement support, and preconstruction coordination

* Assist in managing and coordinating consultant teams responsible for preliminary engineering, environmental documentation, technical studies, station development, and infrastructure delivery activities

* Support integration and coordination across engineering, environmental, right-of-way, construction, rail systems, operations, and program controls functions to ensure alignment of project objectives, schedules, delivery milestones, and implementation strategies

* Facilitate coordination between Authority offices, branches, consultants, local agencies, railroad stakeholders, utility owners, and third-party stakeholders to support timely project development and decision-making

* Support development and maintenance of project delivery plans, technical risk registers, issue resolution logs, interface management processes, and project implementation strategies

* Assist in evaluating project delivery alternatives, procurement approaches, schedule constraints, and implementation strategies to support program objectives

* Review technical documents, engineering deliverables, project schedules, procurement packages, and consultant work products for consistency with Authority requirements and project delivery objectives

* Support executive briefings, stakeholder coordination efforts, technical workshops, interagency coordination meetings, and project reporting activities associated with civil infrastructure and station delivery projects

* Coordinate with other Engineering Services sections, including Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Rail Systems Engineering, and Network Integration & Assurance, as well as the Planning & Sustainability and Environmental Services branches
