Summary
Reclamation seeks a career professional for the role of Supervisory Electronics Engineer. The position is located in Sacramento, California and is not a remote posting. The engineer will help meet increasing water demand while protecting the environment.
Major Duties- Provides engineering solutions, resolves critical problems, and develops, tests, and implements new technologies and solutions.
- Determines technical approach and identifies equipment and integration methods to maintain and enhance hydro and hydropower operational efficiencies.
- Defines and validates new hydro and hydropower operations technology requirements through consultation with regional, federal, and state program officials.
- Identifies and evaluates engineering alternatives and system design approaches, and develops technical specifications and project proposals.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements system acceptance and functional testing.
- Supervises approximately eight technical employees, plans work, sets priorities, and prepares schedules.
- Represents the office, the region, and Reclamation on electronics engineering and integrated control systems (ICS) activities at meetings, conferences, briefings, and other gatherings.

RequirementsApplicants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National and must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. They must:
- Submit a resume and supporting documentation.
- Meet minimum education and/or experience requirements.
- Provide official transcripts to verify education.
- Have certification as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
- Perform an uncommon tour of duty (e.g., evenings, weekends, holidays) approximately 10% of the time.

Other InformationThe candidate will serve a 1‑year probationary period during which performance and conduct are evaluated. Telework may be permitted with supervisory approval. The position is a MODERATE RISK Public Trust position requiring a fully completed and favorably adjudicated Public Trust Suitability Background Investigation (within the last five years). Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with the Selective Service System or provide an exemption statement.
