IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Electrical Project Engineer in our Sacramento, CA office.

Location and Role

As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be responsible for calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, BIM instructions for the project, and specifications required to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period and monetary budget. They consistently exercise their own discretion and judgment in the performance of these duties. Additionally, they act as lead engineer on projects and are able to perform complete electrical systems design for a discipline according to code.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Specify equipment based on project needs and available technologies, research resources for commercially available equipment;
  • Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review all files to determine scope and personnel involved;
  • Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files;
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers;
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress as related to fee expended;
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check;
  • Prepare and issue addendum information;
  • Recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager;
  • Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager;
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement;
  • Mentor designers and/or technicians.
Key

Skills and Abilities
  • Competency of the technical aspects of one’s discipline;
  • Demonstrated aptitude for managing projects;
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM;
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups;
  • Routine local travel with occasional overnight stays.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years of qualifying experience;
  • Professional Engineering license;
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Salary Range and Benefits

California Salary Range: $98,000 – $127,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
