Position Overview
Long‑standing Geotechnical Engineering firm seeks a remote, field‑based Staff Engineer in the greater Sacramento area. The company provides a vehicle and gas card.
Salary: $35–$45 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, and paid holidays.
Responsibilities
Perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils in accordance with established procedures and standards.Prepare and submit accurate and timely field reports on test and inspection results.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications and quality standards.Assist in evaluating field and laboratory test data and provide recommendations based on findings.Monitor and document construction activities related to soil and concrete work.Maintain and calibrate all testing equipment to ensure accurate results.Provide technical assistance to the project team and clients as needed.Comply with all safety procedures and regulations on the construction site.Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Concrete Field Technician, Project Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, or a similar role.Valid ACI or AWS certification required.Proficiency in using various testing equipment and tools (compaction testing with nuclear gauge is a plus).Strong understanding of construction materials and methods, particularly concrete and soils.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.Ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel to various construction sites as needed.Valid driver's license required.Strong commitment to ensuring safety and quality on the job site.Equal Opportunity EmployerJobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
