Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our growing Water Resources group in California or Colorado.

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer you will act as a technical lead of water resources projects related to but not limited to floodplain modeling and mapping studies, municipal water resources projects, stream restoration design, dam removal, and analysis and design of stormwater or highway drainage systems. Your ability to complete hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using various software is crucial to success in this position.

• Preparing and reviewing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work products
• Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, hydraulic structures, and highway drainage systems
• Performing independent tasks and reviewing the technical work of others
• Mentoring, leading, and training junior level staff
• Writing technical reports and memoranda
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Face‑to‑face interaction with clients
• Independently managing technical tasks and staff
• Collaborating in a dynamic team environment

• BA/BS and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Professional Engineer’s license

• 10+ years of relevant water‑resource experience
• Familiarity with HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS 1D/2D, SRH‑2D, xpSWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS, and CADD
• Strong analytical and computational skills
• Knowledge of civil engineering design principles

• Exempt position; salary range $90,000 – $120,000 (Colorado locations only)
