Watch Our Story:
Primary Responsibilities- In the Geotechnical EIT role, conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications.
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
- Conduct slope stability, settlement and seepage analyses and perform geotechnical engineering studies on routine and moderately sized projects.
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
- Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
- Provide direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- License as geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist with civil engineering license.
- Experience working with Caltrans or other state Department of Transportation on bridge and roadway projects.
- Experience working with FEMA on storm damage repair projects.
- Experience with dam and levee investigations.
- Ability to work outdoors and in remote locations during field studies.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience with seismic analysis including ground shaking, liquefaction, and lateral spreading.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience with MS Office, GIS, and CADD, as appropriate.
