Kimley-Horn's Sacramento, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Aviation team. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
- Manage project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinate work with other team members.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
- Maintain a high degree of quality in plans and checking the work of others.
- Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
- Work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects.
- Build meaningful internal and external professional relationships.
- Collaborate closely with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors.
- 4+ years of aviation engineering design experience.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating.
- Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and Engineering Briefs.
- Familiarity with pavement design and FAA Field Design Software.
- Strong desire and passion to be engaged with clients solving project problems and working with the team to deliver.
- Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience.
- Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
$100,000 - $175,000
