Department:
Energy Division – California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Branch
- Act as the CEQA Project Manager responsible for completing environmental reviews for electrical and natural gas infrastructure projects.
- Conduct complex technical, policy, and economic analyses to support Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), Commissioners, and Advisors in the permitting of utility infrastructure projects.
- Manage the development of CEQA and other environmental review documents, and lead the permitting process for utility infrastructure projects.
- Oversee construction compliance of utility infrastructure projects, advising and consulting with ALJs on rulings and proposed decisions.
- Provide technical support for ALJs in formal proceedings before the Commission, prepare briefings, and perform policy research.
- Request proposals for consultant services, manage the selection process, and serve as contract manager overseeing the creation of CEQA documents and related environmental documentation.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings as needed.
- Report to the assigned headquarter office a minimum of two (2) days per week (hybrid position).
- Professional Engineer license is required; a copy of the license must be provided prior to hire.
- Candidate must be eligible for state service and meet the minimum qualifications as specified in the Classification Specification.
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage complex technical projects are essential.
