Responsibilities
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full‑time position available for a refrigeration engineer. Responsibilities include conducting job‑site surveys; calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads; assisting in the development of project documentation including drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&'s), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.;
selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems; and coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least five years of relevant mechanical experience
- PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: project management; ammonia refrigeration design; chilled water/hydronic design; equipment selection; developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs);
Microsoft Office software; mentoring less experienced staff.
