Senior Project Manager – Reclamation & Closure
Job Summary
:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex mining projects across the full mining lifecycle. Manage multidisciplinary teams on mine permitting, infrastructure development, reclamation, closure, and post‑closure projects for mining clients.
- Manage complex mining projects and programs from planning and initiation through completion.
- Develop project execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams comprised of environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, permitting specialists, and construction professionals.
- Monitor project performance and ensure delivery on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee subcontractors, subconsultants, and specialized technical teams.
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with project management procedures and quality management systems.
- Accountable for project profitability and financial performance.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and change management.
- Track project metrics and implement corrective actions as required.
- Ensure efficient utilization of project resources.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to mining clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support business development activities, proposal preparation, interviews, and strategic account planning.

Degree: Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, environmental, geological, geotechnical, mining) or science (geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental science) or a related technical discipline.
Qualifications- Minimum 10+ years of consulting experience for mining clients in one or more of the following:
- Environmental or geotechnical site investigations
- Mining‑Influenced Water
- Mine site hydrology, hydrogeology, and/or geochemistry
- Mine Planning and Closure
- Tailings Management/Design
- Mining Engineering
- Mining Exploration
- Permitting and regulatory compliance experience for the mining industry (air, NEPA, NPDES, stormwater, etc.)
- Water quality permitting (aquifer protection, direct discharge, stormwater)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing environmental, infrastructure, reclamation and/or closure projects, preferably for the mining industry.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and contractual requirements.
- Proven ability to lead client engagements and maintain strong relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required to client sites and project locations.
- Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines.
- A self‑starter with sound judgment and decisiveness.
- Experience and/or formal training with project management best practices a plus, but not required.
- Professional registration (PE, PG) a plus, but not required.
This position operates under a hybrid work model, joining the office three days a week.

$107,000 – $178,000 based on experience and location.
Benefits- 401(k) – Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following three months of service.
- Paid time off – PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service.
- Holiday pay – We observe nine holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular schedule for the employee.
