Position
Associate Buildings Energy Engineer – Sacramento, CA (Siemens Smart Infrastructure)
Responsibilities- Perform energy calculations (such as weather‑based BIN calculations).
- Apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load‑building models using modeling software.
- Analyze blueprints to identify mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to determine facility operational characteristics.
- Participate in pre‑sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency.
- Participate and at times lead client meetings and presentations.
- Perform all necessary energy and design calculations needed to propose facility improvement measure (FIM) recommendations.
- Work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs.
- Assist and at times lead existing building commissioning projects.
- Understand industry standard commissioning procedures or techniques.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Must be at least 21 years old to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan and have a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Presentation skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with mechanical HVAC systems and/or design.
- Experience with data analysis tools to identify trends and patterns.
- 2+ years of mechanical HVAC systems or design experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience with energy efficiency engineering within buildings.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification and/or state certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer.
- Understanding of state and utility incentive programs.
- Perform industry‑standard (ASHRAE or equivalent) energy audits, develop action plans, organize information gathered, and identify FIM recommendations.
- 5+ years of experience supporting performance‑based projects or energy services.
- Familiarity with MS Excel and VBA programming basics.

CompensationPay range: $55,264 – $115,790 annually. The Buildings Energy Engineer role also has a target incentive of 5% of the base salary.
