Job Description And Duties

Would you like to manage an innovative, fast‑paced team that develops and implements plans for areas in California to meet national air quality standards and implement the requirements of the federal Clean Air Act? Can you develop and advocate creative solutions to public policy questions? Do you like to solve both concrete and conceptual problems? This position in the South Coast Air Quality Planning Section of the Air Quality Planning Branch offers the opportunity to manage work on State‑level planning documents, air quality plans for the southern california region, ensure that California implements those plans, and interact with all CARB divisions, air districts and U.S. EPA.

The South Coast Air Quality Planning Section is responsible for all air quality planning issues related to and working with the South Coast Air Quality Management District and other Districts in southern California. The section is the lead in development of ozone and particulate matter State Implementation Plans (SIPs) as required under the federal Clean Air Act for the southern portion of California, and lead in the preparation of statewide planning documents including the State SIP Strategy.
