Job Summary:

Golden 1 Center is seeking an energetic, organized, and dependable individual to join our Entertainment team as an Assistant Stage Manager. This role supports the Stage Manager and Entertainment team in the execution of Sacramento Kings home games and other arena entertainment events.

The Assistant Stage Manager will help coordinate performers, props, equipment, and other live entertainment elements while assisting with the timing and execution of the game presentation. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced live-event environment, communicates effectively, and is eager to gain hands-on experience in sports and entertainment production.

Key Responsibilities Event & Game Presentation Support Assist the Stage Manager and Entertainment team with the execution of Sacramento Kings home games and other entertainment events.

Support pre-event preparation, rehearsals, load-in, setup, and post-event breakdown.

Help ensure performers, entertainment groups, props, and equipment are in the correct locations and prepared at designated times.

Assist with coordinating entertainment elements including performances, promotions, ceremonies, special presentations, and other in-arena activations.

Support communication between the Stage Manager, production staff, performers, and other event personnel.

Stage Management Assist the Stage Manager with managing designated staging and performance areas before, during, and after events.

Follow established run-of-show documents, cue sheets, and timing schedules to help ensure entertainment elements are executed accurately and on time.

Help cue performers, participants, and entertainment elements as directed by the Stage Manager.

Assist with organizing performers and groups entering and exiting the arena floor or performance areas.

Communicate updates, changes, or potential issues to the Stage Manager quickly and  prepared to take on additional stage management responsibilities as assigned.

Performer & Guest Coordination Serve as a welcoming and professional point of contact for performers, participants, and entertainment groups.

Assist with performer check-in, credentialing, staging, rehearsals, and movement throughout designated event areas.

Provide performers and participants with clear instructions regarding timing, locations, entrances, exits, and performance expectations.

Help ensure all participants are prepared and in position before their scheduled cues.

Safety & Emergency Preparedness Follow all venue safety procedures and established event protocols.

Maintain safe and organized backstage, staging, and performance areas.

Identify potential safety or operational concerns and immediately communicate them to the Stage Manager or appropriate event personnel.

Remain calm and responsive when schedules change or unexpected situations occur during live events.

Team Collaboration Work closely with the Stage Manager, Entertainment team, Event Operations, audiovisual/production teams, security, and other arena departments to support successful event execution.

Maintain clear and professional communication in a fast-paced live-event environment.

Demonstrate flexibility and a team-first attitude when responsibilities or event needs change.

Assist with additional entertainment and event-related duties as assigned.

Equipment & Prop Support Assist with the preparation, organization, placement, movement, and storage of entertainment equipment and props.

Help maintain organized backstage and storage areas.

Assist with pre-event and post-event inventory of assigned props and equipment.

Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the Stage Manager or Entertainment team.

Qualifications Previous experience in live events, stage management, theater, sports entertainment, event production, or a related area is preferred but not required.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow detailed instructions, cue sheets, and event timelines.

Ability to multitask and adapt quickly when priorities or show elements change.

Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced, high-pressure live-event environment.

Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other hours based on the event schedule.

Enthusiasm for sports, live entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences is highly desirable.

Familiarity with live-event production terminology and procedures preferred.

Experience working with performers, talent, promotional teams, or production crews preferred.

Experience reading run-of-show documents or following live production cues preferred.

Interest in developing skills in stage management, game presentation, and live sports entertainment.
