Position SummaryUnder the general direction of the Deputy Chief Actuary, the Actuary Supervisor plans, organizes and directs the work of the Valuation Services Unit within the Actuarial Office of the California Public Retirement System (CalPERS). The supervisor serves as the subject matter expert, consults on complex and sensitive program issues, and may personally perform the most complex actuarial work.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct the work of the Valuation Services Unit.
- Serve as subject matter expert and consult on complex program issues.
- Perform complex and sensitive actuarial work as needed.
Eligible for hybrid work schedule: up to two days remote and at least three days onsite per week.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate credential with SOA or CAS, or a similar actuarial credential recognized by SOA or CAS.
- Three years of actuarial experience while holding an Associateship credential.
- Experience and education meeting the Minimum Qualifications outlined in the Class Specification.
- Associateship credential with either the SOA or CAS, or a mutually recognized actuarial organization.
- Three years of actuarial experience holding an Associateship credential.
