Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst provides plant‑level financial and operational support to Nivagen Pharmaceuticals, with primary responsibility for cost accounting, inventory forecasting, and operational finance. This role partners closely with Operations and Supply Chain to drive financial performance, inventory optimization, and working capital efficiency. Responsibilities include ownership of cost accounting activities, month‑end close, and forward‑looking financial analysis, ensuring alignment between operational decisions and financial outcomes.

The Financial Analyst serves as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, translating production plans, inventory movements, and supply decisions into actionable financial insights.

Role and Responsibilities Cost Accounting
  • Own plant‑level cost accounting activities, including standard cost maintenance, bill of material and routing validation, labor and overhead rate analysis, and absorption accounting
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances, including material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, yield, and mix variances
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure accurate costing for new products, process changes, and capital projects
  • Monitor inventory valuation and cost flow assumptions in accordance with GAAP and company policy
Financial Analysis & Month‑End Close
  • Perform month‑end close activities, including production variance analysis, purchase price variance (PPV) reconciliation, absorption analysis, labor reconciliation, inventory analysis, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Analyze and communicate financial performance versus targets, highlighting trends, risks, and drivers of variance
  • Maintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation in compliance with GAAP and third‑party audit requirements
Inventory Forecasting & Supply Chain Finance
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations to develop and maintain rolling forecasts for finished goods and raw material inventory aligned with demand plans, production schedules, and purchasing strategies
  • Analyze volume, mix, yield, and efficiency impacts on inventory balances, absorption, cost of goods sold, and working capital
  • Support raw material forecasting by analyzing historical consumption, bills of material, supplier lead times, and minimum order quantities to identify financial risks and cash optimization opportunities
  • Own financial analysis of inventory turns, days on hand (DOH), and slow‑moving/excess/obsolete (SLOB) exposure, including reserve modeling and trend reporting
  • Translate MRP outputs and production plans into financial projections for inventory balances, PPV, absorption, and cash flow
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Support preparation of plant financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long‑range plans, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow impacts
  • Maintain a rolling production and absorption model outlining volume and mix impacts versus plan
  • Participate as a Finance representative in production planning, S&OP, or IBP discussions, providing financial insight into trade‑offs between service levels, inventory investment, cost, and capacity utilization
  • Develop and monitor forecast accuracy and bias metrics related to inventory and production assumptions
Operations & Capital Support
