Under the general direction of a Tax Program Supervisor in the Information Validation Section (IVS) of the Processing Services Bureau (PSB), the Tax Program Technician II performs the more complex Personal Income Tax (PIT) account resolutions / transactions and provides technical support needed for the accurate and timely processing of PIT returns and payments. The job duties are performed in a production environment where you must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, adapt to changing workloads and priorities, exercise good judgment, and must be willing to learn a variety of tasks;
this may include, but is not limited to corresponding with taxpayers or their representatives, assisting with training, and reviewing procedure manuals. The incumbent is responsible for some of the more difficult and complex work assignments within the team / section, make necessary adjustments, and / or transactions by correctly assessing and/or canceling tax/penalties; as well as ensuring payments are applied correctly.

- Working knowledge of Franchise Tax Board (FTB) systems:
Case Management (CM), Taxpayer Folder (TPF) and Taxpayer Information (TI) - Personal Income Tax (PIT) processing experience
- Ability to establish priorities and to assist with eliminating backlogs wherever possible
- Ability to review the work of others to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, and consistency with procedures, directives, and policies
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to work with peers to build team rapor
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative working relationships with others at all levels
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
- Flexible and willing to learn in an environment that is fast paced and ever changing
