Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Administrator in the Business Entities Exempt Organization unit, the incumbent professionally responds through the Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) phone line and resolves correspondence and written inquiries from customers and/or their representatives. In addition, the incumbent examines business entity accounts and makes appropriate adjustments in Business Entities Tax System (BETS). This position may include, but is not limited to, approval and denial of exempt status, refund claims, fund transfers, assessing additional tax, assessing penalties, and corresponding with taxpayers and/or their representatives regarding additional information necessary to resolve complex accounts.
All duties are performed within the framework of the department’s strategic business goals, mission and values. Our Tax Technicians exercise professionalism and use good judgment to assist the customer.

Sacramento (central).

Salary Range (A): $3,558.00 - $4,457.00 A
Salary Range (B): $4,017.00 - $5,032.00 B
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
