Clinical Trial Budget Analyst
Location:
Sacramento, CA (Remote)
Duration: 18 Weeks
Schedule:
Day 5 x 8 hours (08:00a - 05:00p)
Requirements:
Clinical trial budgeting or financial analysis experience required.
Experience developing and maintaining clinical trial budgets across research funding models.
Experience analyzing protocols for procedures, personnel effort, startup requirements, pass-through costs, and resource needs.
Experience negotiating budgets with sponsors, CROs, or funding agencies.
Experience conducting financial feasibility, cost recovery, and budget adequacy analyses.
Experience supporting study startup, activation, and contract-budget alignment.
Experience maintaining budget amendments, financial records, reports, and forecasts.
Ability to collaborate with investigators, study teams, Contracts, Research Finance, Coverage Analysis, and Research Operations.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with industry-sponsored, investigator-initiated, grant-funded, cooperative group, device, or drug studies.
Experience supporting sponsor audits or financial reviews.
Experience with financial forecasting, dashboards, and operational reporting.
Experience educating investigators or research teams on budgeting and cost recovery.
Experience in an enterprise or multi-site healthcare research environment.
Summary / Duties:
The Clinical Trial Budget Analyst will provide four months of remote support to Sutter Health Research Institute s Clinical Trials Administration team. The role develops, analyzes, negotiates, and maintains budgets for clinical research studies while ensuring appropriate sponsor cost recovery and alignment with institutional financial objectives. Responsibilities include protocol-based budget development, sponsor and CRO negotiations, financial feasibility reviews, contract-budget alignment, study startup support, budget amendments, reporting, forecasting, and stakeholder consultation.
The analyst will work closely with investigators, study teams, Clinical Trials Administration, Contracts, Research Finance, Coverage Analysis, Study Start-Up, and Research Operations to support timely study activation and sound financial management throughout the trial lifecycle.
