CalPERS, the nation's largest public pension fund with approximately $658.81 billion in assets, is hiring a Private Debt Investment Analyst (classified as Investment Officer I) to join its Private Debt (PD) team in Sacramento, CA. The role supports management of CalPERS' Private Debt and Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) portfolios.
Core responsibilitiesCore responsibilities include:
- evaluating the CLO market, the private debt market, and external managers
- collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data on historical and current fund performance
- assisting with monitoring existing investments, including attribution analysis, leverage usage, and cash-flow forecasting
- coordinating Investment Committee and external manager meetings, including planning presentations, calendars, and minutes
- reviewing capital call and distribution notices while tracking managers' capital deployment and distributions
This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position (up to two remote days per week) based in Sacramento County. The role carries a base pay range of $4,365 to $8,290 per month (approximately $52,380 to $99,480 annually), with a 5% pay differential available for holders of the CFA charter. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States.
